Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
This policy explains how Ruine Studio LLC, doing business as RUINE, handles personal information in connection with ruine.co, inquiries, The Founder’s Desk and our business services. Contact theconversation@ruine.co or write to Ruine Studio LLC, 308 Main Street, Senoia, GA 30276.
Information you provide
When you inquire, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email, company, website, role, business revenue range, timing and description of the situation. A Houz introduction may include your discipline, portfolio and professional background. Newsletter forms collect your email, any name you choose to provide, and your subscription choice. An engagement may also require contact, contracting, project, billing and payment records.
Please do not submit passwords, full payment-card details, government identification numbers, patient records or other sensitive personal information through an ordinary website inquiry. We will agree on an appropriate transfer method if the work requires sensitive materials.
Technical information
Our website and hosting or security providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request times, security events and server logs. Forms may record their source page and campaign-source information provided in the URL. We record submission and subscription status, permission wording or version, and relevant request and confirmation times. See our Cookie and Technology Notice for browser technologies and external resources.
Why we use information
- To review and respond to inquiries and professional introductions.
- To assess, contract for, deliver and administer agreed work, including payment and accounting.
- To send The Founder’s Desk to people who request it and manage confirmation, preferences and opt-outs.
- To operate and protect the website, prevent abuse, resolve problems and maintain appropriate business records.
- To meet legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Submitting an inquiry, applying to The Houz or making a payment does not automatically subscribe you to The Founder’s Desk.
Who receives information
Information is handled by RUINE personnel and providers who support the relevant function, such as website hosting, form storage, security, business email, customer and project administration, accounting and payment processing. The website uses WordPress and Elementor; hosting is provided through WP Engine. Cloudflare services may support security. Some pages request font resources from Google. Business correspondence may be handled through Google Workspace. Payment links lead to Stripe, which processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Where needed for an inquiry or engagement, we may share relevant information with independent professionals involved in the work, professional advisers, or a provider you ask us to involve. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or the service. Information may also be reviewed or transferred in a legitimate business reorganization, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections. We do not give newsletter permission to unrelated businesses for their own marketing.
Cookies and tracking choices
The reviewed public website uses resources needed to display, deliver and protect its pages. Hosting, security, WordPress and embedded services may use browser storage or cookies. External resources can receive technical information when your browser connects to them. RUINE does not currently operate a cross-site advertising program on this website. Browser Do Not Track signals do not change the site’s essential processing. This is distinct from Global Privacy Control and any opt-out rights that applicable law requires us to honor. Contact us about privacy choices; if we introduce additional tracking, we will update this notice and provide any required controls before using it.
The Founder’s Desk and opting out
Newsletter permission is separate from service correspondence. Use the unsubscribe link included in a Desk email, visit Newsletter Preferences, or email theconversation@ruine.co with your request. An opt-out stops the Desk; necessary correspondence about an inquiry, contract or transaction may continue. We retain an appropriate suppression record to avoid adding you back without a new request. We may ask you to confirm your email address before publication messages begin.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, considering the relationship, an active project or request, accounting and legal requirements, disputes and record-preservation obligations. We may retain limited preference and suppression information after an opt-out. Information in backups is subject to the applicable backup lifecycle. We review access, retention and deletion requests against these purposes and requirements.
Your requests
You may contact theconversation@ruine.co to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or to ask about our use of it. Your rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and authority before releasing information or making a change. Tell us what you would like to do; please do not send sensitive identity documents unless we arrange a suitable method. Where applicable law provides additional rights or an appeal, we will address the request under that law.
Security and location
We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect information, including HTTPS and access-controlled business systems. No online service or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. RUINE is based in the United States; our providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. If an engagement requires particular data-location or handling terms, those must be agreed before the information is shared.
Children and changes to this policy
This website is intended for business and professional audiences and is not directed to children under 13. Please contact us if you believe a child’s personal information has been submitted. We will post updates to this policy here and revise its effective date. If a change requires additional notice or permission, we will provide it as required.
